Destroyed and abandoned….. Whiteford Point Lighthouse is located off the coast at Whiteford Point near Whiteford Sands, on the Gower Peninsula, south Wales. It is an unusual cast-iron lighthouse built in 1865 to a design by John Bowen (1825–1873) of Llanelli, by the Llanelli Harbour and Burry Navigation Commissioners to mark the shoals of Whiteford Point, replacing an earlier piled structure of 1854, of which nothing remains. It is the only wave-swept cast-iron tower of this size in Britain, athough it can be reached on foot at low tide. Whiteford Lighthouse is listed by Cadw as Grade II* as a rare survival of a wave-swept cast-iron lighthouse in British coastal waters, and an important work of cast-iron architecture and nineteenth-century lighthouse design and construction. It is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument….Deactivated 1926.
The date is Thursday, October 8th, 2020 @ 3:59 AM CST as I’m posting this tracklist. A couple of days ago I decided to start getting my massive mp3 music collection organized so that I can once and for all put it in one collection, and on one device. This involves properly naming, and tagging the files, and it’s a lot of work, but I find it a bit meditative, and I’ve been needing and intending to do this for years. I’ve been collecting mp3’s since Napster was a popular thing back in the day, so I know it will be a great reward for myself when I get the entire collection in order.
The tracklist below contains all the mp3 files for my Direct Hit Remixes Collection 2016, as I’ve named it. This is a compilation of 432 tracks from multiple albums in the Direct Hit series.
I will be posting my tracklists on my blog throughout all of the organizing of my music collection.
These tracks are in the genre of Electronic & Dance.
It’s Monday morning, September 28th, 2020 @ 3:43 AM CST as I begin to post this 5th edition of Random Things Digest. It almost slipped my mind to get this archive post up on the website… ooops! Just want to make an announcement that I have plans to start publishing a monthly or quarterly newsletter for things happening on my website, and with my ebooks, and blog projects. It will be in the form of a PDF download.
In this newsletter, I plan to include much of the content that is already posted on my website such as the Random Things weekly posts that I do, a list of useful/favorite websites, and social media accounts I recommend. It will also be kept up to date with a list of all of my available ebooks, and more as the newsletter develops.
Stay tuned as I will begin working on the first issue of this newsletter soon. No release date is available yet.
Relaxation videos are a great way to zone out and meditate to, or if you have a spare monitor, have playing while you’re working on your productive tasks at your computer. Here in this list are some relaxation videos I personally enjoy.
Two Friends Mixes At Podcast Republic (Link provided in case the Podcast Republic player doesn’t appear above and to provide access to all of this podcasts episodes at Podcast Republic)
So it is what it is. Two Friends DJ duo gets the honor of being the first podcast featured at DDAVIDD.com this Monday morning, September 21st, 2020.
I just discovered this podcast this morning around midnight after thinking to myself, “I should go find a podcast to feature on my website.”, something I’ve been thinking about doing for awhile.
So a little background info about Two Friends for those who know nothing about them, like I don’t at the time of posting this blog post:
Two Friends is an American DJ/producer duo made up of Eli Sones and Matthew Halper. The Los Angeles-based duo gained popularity for their remixes, original discography, and hour-long ‘Big Bootie’ mixes. They have most notably remixed classics such as Blink 182’s ‘I Miss You’ and The Killers’ ‘Mr. Brightside,’ with official remixes for Lana Del Rey, Tove Lo, The Chainsmokers, Tori Kelly, Vicetone and Echosmith as well. You can get more info about Two Friends at Wikipedia, Google, and their Official Website.
I admit it was their intro conversation in Episode 59 of their podcast that made me laugh and decide to feature them. They’re extremely lucky to have the first spotlight in my Podcast Spotlights blog segment, since Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT (A State Of Trance) has been pretty much the only music podcast I’ve listened to regularly since around 2017 or so.
Enjoy the podcast. The player above will automatically update the Two Friends Mixes Podcast when a new episode is uploaded.
It’s Sunday evening, September 20th, 2020 @ 10:08 PM CST as I begin to post this 5th edition of Random Things Digest. I hope your weekend was a great one, and that you’re looking forward to a productive week starting tomorrow.
It’s Monday morning, September 13th, 2020 @ 12:48 PM CST as I begin to post this 4th edition of Random Things Digest. I hope your weekend was a great one, and that you’re looking forward to a productive week starting tomorrow.
For me, this past week has been extremely busy, busy, busy! I’ve been trying to get my workflow in order with the use of a new (to me) task managing app called Todoist. Long story short, that app so far has not lived up to my expectations so far, but I’m not giving up completely on using it. I did end up giving Google Sheets a try for a very basic task list manager using one of it’s spreadsheet templates. So far I like it I think. I’ve managed to start up a couple of new blogs that I’ll be setting up and adding into my personal network. One is a music blog to track the music I’m listening to on Spotify (something to reference mainly for myself), and the other one is called Bad Ass Trucks, and by the name of it, I’m sure you can guess what it will be about. I’ve gotten a lot of work done on my Kaleidoscope Art Ebook, so it will be coming up in my ebook store on Gumroad. It will be a free ebook, so look for it soon. You can keep up with all of my progress on it at my home page.
