Relaunch Number 2 In 2023 is kicking off a new relaunch in 2023!

I’m David, an amateur outdoor photographer, writer, blogger, content promoter, music collector, and self-published ebook author residing in Southeast Alabama. This website serves as your guide to all of my ebook projects, blogs I maintain, favorite links, information I share, and more.

It’s time for a new fresh start at in 2023.

Who I Am:

Please allow me to properly introduce myself.

Hi, my name is David Thrift (aka MUDWALKER – a self chosen nickname – not given to me by anyone). I am a outdoor photographer residing in Southeast Alabama. My primary focus with my photography is photographing the scenery around West Point Lake, and Lake Harding in Alabama and Georgia, but mostly West Point Lake. My other interests include content creation (photo ebooks), blogging, and content curation on my blog. I love to share content that I find around the internet that my site visitors may find useful or interesting. Site History: was first officially established by me on the morning of Sunday, August 9th, 2020 @ 7:55 A.M. CST to serve as my personal official website and for branding & promotion of my photography. It was in the beginning titled “DAVID THRIFT” as my personal official website. This will always serve as my personal official website, but also will carry with it a business focus centered around my photography and my photo ebook products. I may change it’s title name periodically, but the title will always revolve around my name, or something to do with my photography, and photography brand (David Thrift, David Thrift Official, Mudwalker, Mudpix, Mudpix Outoors).

From the time I first launched this website, until Wednesday, April 13th, 2022, this website was rarely maintained (my own fault) due to working on other projects with other websites. On Wednesday, April 13th, 2022 @ 1:40 AM CST, I changed the name of this site to MUDWALKER under new branding to reflect on my MUDPIX OUTDOORS PHOTOGRAPHY brand. MUDWALKER refers to that I find myself often walking in mud to get to various locations around the lakes for shooting photos. MUDWALKER is also the name of my monthly newsletter which launched in April 2022 (first published on Thursday, March 31st, 2022).

On Thursday, April 14th, 2022 I announced my 1st relaunch of this website with a brand new template (Blank Canvas) with a custom layout in it that I created myself. Even though I had that relaunch with the new template, I still continued working on other projects, but I did get some site building done here at as well, but I didn’t get ahead to the point I want this website to be at. I said that I would add more lists to the blog. I’ve added one. I said that I would begin adding photo galleries, and I added a few. But I can do more.

Focus Ahead:

This announcement now brings my 2nd relaunch of this website. Going forward I plan to put less focus on other website projects, and focus more on building my photography brand here by building new photo galleries. I also plan to start blogging more here to bring other content that interests me, that may also interest my website viewers. Perhaps I can also find a way to bring my other projects into the mix here at in a way that more defines who I am as a content creator. I have come to a realization that I have spreading my efforts and funds out across too many projects, and I’m really not getting anything done, and I’ve been wasting money. I’ve had some great project ideas (possibly by my own opinions) but not enough time for them all. So going forward, you can expect to see more blogging from me done here about my photography, and curated content. I am also focused on creating a better system of navigation around my website.

Recent New Updates:

Along with slimming down the layout of this website, I have been working on adding some exciting features here that I think can be useful to my site visitors. All of the more recent important updates to include: I slimmed down the layout as already mentioned. There are now less sections to scroll through on my pages and posts. I will focus on creating more blog posts and pages for content rather than posting huge amounts of content into the layout of this website. My website now offers an option on pages and posts that will allow you to download a pdf file of the page or post content via help from Print Friendly. Please feel free to use this service if you would like a digital pdf copy of my content FOR YOUR PERSONAL USE ONLY PLEASE. Additionally my website now offers to you, through the help of Webpushr, to receive browser notifications whenever I upload a new post, or update an old one. Just look for the bell icon in the lower corner of your screen on my website if you would like to subscribe for the notifications. These browser notifications are non-intrusive and allow you to quickly click over to my website for the updates whenever they pop up on your computer screen. Also these notifications will only remain on your screen for a few seconds before disappearing, and you can unsubscribe from the notifications anytime just by clicking the bell icon on my website. These notifications are a great way to stay connected to my website without having to sign up for anything if that is your choice.

So I am looking forward to continuing to bring more content and improvements to for you. Thanks for your support!

In April 2022, I began writing and sharing my newsletter, titled MUDWALKER. This newsletter comes with my latest site updates, and also lots of other content such as links to useful & interesting websites, music lists, resources, and more. It is a free pdf published monthly between the 1st and 5th of each month (sometimes earlier depending on my schedule). You can get the latest issue here.

A large part of what makes a great resource for information, are the lists I write and maintain. Check out the lists below that may interest you.

Podcast Spotlights (in planning coming soon):

Podcast Spotlights are a new thing I started doing in September 2020. I have to admit that I don’t listen to many podcasts myself personally. If I do listen to one, it’s usually the Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT (A State Of Trance) podcast. My Podcast Spotlights are a way for me to connect with more favorite Podcasts, while also highlighting some that you may enjoy. See the list below of the current Podcast Spotlights. UPDATE: Apparently I deleted the posts for this segment of my website. Perhaps I had a change of focus. Maybe I’ll bring the spotlights back at some point.

My new publication called Hobbies & Collections will give you an up to date look at what is keeping me busy the most. Click here to read it on Issuu. This is supposed to be frequently updated, but I haven't had time to do that in awhile. I will get back to working on this journal as soon as possible. I will also move it off of the Issuu platform and make it available for download only here on my website. Stay tuned.
