You have 6 topics to explore in this digest.

It’s Sunday evening, September 20th, 2020 @ 10:08 PM CST as I begin to post this 5th edition of Random Things Digest. I hope your weekend was a great one, and that you’re looking forward to a productive week starting tomorrow.

Some things mentioned in the last Random Things Digest 004 edition are carrying over in this 005 edition.

This past week has been extremely busy, busy, busy! I’ve been trying to get my workflow in order with the use of a new (to me) task managing app called Todoist. Long story short, that app did not lived up to my expectations, but I’m not giving up completely on using it. I’m giving Google Sheets a try for a very basic task list manager using one of it’s spreadsheet templates. So far I like it I think, and the past week using it to manage my tasks has been far from perfect, but it has been manageable.

I discovered another new (to me) note taking app that I like right away called Transno that I am learning how to use and hope to incorporate it into my task managing routine. It functions as an outlining tool combined with mind-mapping, and it is unlike anything related to mind-mapping that I’ve seen before. You write a simple outline of your thoughts, ideas, tasks, etc., and then click a button and it gives you a beautifully organized mind-map of your brain. I encourage everyone to sign up for a free account and give it a try.

I’ve managed to start up a couple of new blogs that I’ll be setting up and adding into my personal network. One is a music blog called Spotify Life to track the music I’m listening to on Spotify (something to reference mainly for myself), and the other one is called Bad Ass Trucks, and by the name of it, I’m sure you can guess what it will be about. It will be about trucks of course. Just photos of awesome trucks.

I’ve gotten a lot of work done on my Kaleidoscope Art Ebook, so it will be coming up in my ebook store on Gumroad. It will be a free ebook, so look for it soon. You can keep up with all of my progress on it at my home page.

We’re closing out the 5th week of Random Things I listed on my home page over the past week. Remember I always post these on my home page first before putting them in the blog. So you should check out that page daily to keep up with the latest things I find that are interesting. If you missed them however during the week, here they are for you. These are links to articles, news events (usually twitter news events – but also mainstream news), sometimes products I see that you may find useful from an ad I’ve seen, and some blog posts from blogs I personally follow. None of these links are sponsored. I share this information at my own choosing. These are all now available in this archive digest.

002. 10 Unsettling Real-Life Horror Stories – From Listverse

Often, facts are stranger than fiction. In fact, sometimes real-life stories are more terrifying than those in horror movies. Some are equal parts horrifying and tragic. I Was Just Thinking

On my blog there is a category called Just Thinking, and in that category is where I occasionally write about things in the news or various other things including random thoughts, or something about productivity and trying to keep up with getting things done. Below are some recent topics I wrote about that you may interest you.

Random Things Digests

I continuously find interesting links to share with my website viewers. I share these links in the form of “Random Things”. Random Things Digests contain collections of various internet content I’ve found to share with you that you may find interesting. You will find Random Things always posted first in real time, as I discover them, on my home page. Each week I post the Random Things from my home page in a blog post to the Random Things Digests Archive so that you don’t miss all the great shares and information.

Lists

A large part of what makes DDAVIDD.com a great resource for information, are the lists I write and maintain. Check out the lists below that may interest you.

Podcast Spotlights

Podcast Spotlights are a new thing I started doing in September 2020. I have to admit that I don’t listen to many podcasts myself personally. If I do listen to one, it’s usually the Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT (A State Of Trance) podcast. My Podcast Spotlights are a way for me to connect with more favorite Podcasts, while also highlighting some that you may enjoy. See the list below of the current Podcast Spotlights.
